hall marking

Hallmarking is a legal requirement within the UK, it is a process of verifying and officially stamping pieces of jewellery made from silver, gold, platinum, and palladium.

The minimum weight to have a hallmark verification is:

Gold: 1.0 grams

Silver: 7.78 grams

Platinum: 0.5 grams

Palladium: 1.0 grams

It is a small hallmark in a vertical line with minimal spacing between the marks. This consists of a Sponsor's mark, Millesimal fineness mark, and Assay Office mark which can be done by either using punches or a laser marking machine (we’ve opted for a laser mark).

This means the individual pieces have been independently tested, meet all legal standards, and what the piece is made from, where it was hallmarked.
